"I believe that a hat should be a reflection of the person wearing it, a celebration of their personal style and individuality."
— Rachel Trevor-Morgan
Trevor-Morgan is one of the most respected milliners working today, and her philosophy is beautifully simple: the hat serves the woman, not the other way around. It is a celebration of who you are, not a costume you put on.
This is exactly how I approach every bespoke commission. Before I pick up a single piece of sinamay or reach for a hat block, I need to understand the person. What colours make her skin glow? What shapes suit her face? What is she excited about, and what makes her nervous? The hat grows from those answers.
"The best hat is the one that makes a woman look in the mirror and think: yes, that is exactly me."
— Kathryn Lee
