"Hats are a form of self-expression, a way to show the world who you are without saying a word."
— Philip Somerville
There is something wonderful about a form of expression that requires no words. You walk into a room wearing a striking hat and your personality arrives before your name does. Somerville understood this deeply, and his work reflected it.
In a single glance, a hat communicates confidence, taste, creativity, and intention. That is an extraordinary amount of information delivered in absolute silence.
"I love that my clients can walk into a room and the hat says everything they want to say before they open their mouth. That is the real power of millinery."
— Kathryn Lee
Whether you choose a bold crown or a delicate fascinator, the hat you pick is a portrait of who you are. Choose well.
A Little History
Philip Somerville (1930-2017) was one of Britain's most distinguished milliners, serving as the official Royal milliner for decades. He created hats for Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Diana, and the Queen Mother. His Knightsbridge studio was the go-to destination for society women, and his clean, structured designs set the standard for elegant British millinery.
